Orcs are foot soldiers to Sauron and Saruman. Many orcs were once evles, goblins, and other creatures. Orcs are blinded by the sun so when fighting they mostly fight at night. They are also hunchman and were the hand of Sauron on their face when going to war. They are portrayed as dull, dim-witted creatures who can only destroy not create. They were soiled black clothing with a dirty look that shows their personality. They are ruthless, murdering, controlled, and evil creatures who are helping Sauron and Saruman look for the ring Frodo has. In the last movie Sauron makes stronger orcs and calls them orci. They look just like regular orcs but they are able to fight harder and longer also they have incredible strength.
Gothmog is the leader of the orcs in the Return of the King. He is the one who leads the orcs into battle on Pelennor Fields until King Theordin shows up with lots of Rohan men. The battle is well under way no one is really winning it is back and forth when Aragon shows up with the King of the Dead and his people. All of Gothmag's troops are killed and he is too.
Snaga is the orc that wants to eat Merry and Pippen in the second movie but isn't allowed to because Uruk-hai says no because they are going back to Isengard. An arguement breaks out between the orcs on food and Snaga tries to sneak up behind Merry and Pippen while everyone else is fighting but Uglúk stopshim before he is able to eat them. By stopping him, I mean killed him.
Grishnakh was the orc who was sent to bring the hobbits back to Mordor. While he is leading the orcs they meet up with Uglúk. Uglúk was so intent on bringing the Hobbits back that Grishnakh was hoping to find a way to get rid of him and his men. He found his chance while they were running day and night without food and not stopping. Grishnakh started a rebellion against the Uruk-hai complaing there was no fresh meat to eat. When Merry and Pippen try to escape into the Fangorn Forest Grishnakh is the orc who chases after them. They are only saved because of Treebeard who squashes Grishnakh with his feet.
Gorbag is the orc signed to protect the garrison at the Tower of Cirith Ungol. Gorbag is the orc who finds Frodo outside of Shelob's Lair wrapped in spider gunk and passed out cold. Then they take him back to the Tower of Cirith Ungol where Sam goes to free Frodo. First a spark starts over Frodo's coat which kills about everybody except Gorbag. Then Gorbag catches Sam trying to save Frodo and he tries to kill him but Sam kills him first dead to the bone. What a wonderful battle.
Now we are gonna learn about the Uruk-hai. They are Saruman's army who are stronger than orcs because they are a breeding of men and orcs together. There are three main Uruk-hai we are gonna learn about those are Lurtz, Uglúk, and Shagrat but i can't find info on Shagrat.
Lurtz is the Uruk-hai that Saurman sends to get the hobbits and bring them back to him. Lurtz and his army meet up with Frodo and his friends at Amon Hen, this is the place they paddle too. Lurtz is the orc that mortally kills Boromir but he is then killed by Aragon. As they are battling the other Uruk-hai who go ahead of him with the hobbits and get a far lead on the others searching for the hobbits, Merry and Pippen only.
Uglúk is the orc who takes over after Lurtz is killed and is leading the other Uruk-hai back to Isengard with Merry and Pippen. They camp at the edge of the forest and fresh meat is demanded but he tells them no because Saurman wants them alive and "unspoiled" when they get to him. Uglúk is the orc who has to kill Snaga which makes the rest of the orcs wanting fresh meat. This all ends when Rohirrim forces come and kill the orc forces. Uglúk is killed in this attack.
